Questions

What people ask before they write

Do you take my insurance?

Lull is out of network with insurance plans, so you pay for each session yourself. Lull does not bill Medicare or Medicaid. We can give you the names of colleagues who bill plans.

What is a superbill, and how do I use it?

A superbill is an itemized monthly receipt that you send to your plan, which may reimburse part of out-of-network care. It lists the dates and kind of session, and it carries a diagnosis code your insurer can see. Your plan decides whether it pays anything.

What is a good faith estimate?

If you pay without insurance, you have the right to receive a written estimate of the cost before care begins. We send one before your first session. If a bill comes to $400 or more above the estimate, you can dispute it. The estimate is not a contract.

How are fees set, and how do I pay?

The fee is set by the length of the session, and we send it in writing before your first session. You pay at the end of each session by card. There is no contract and no payment in advance.

Can I use an HSA or FSA card?

Yes. Most HSA and FSA cards work like any other card. Your plan administrator can tell you what it covers.

What happens in the first session?

Sixty minutes in which you say what you want to say. Yolanda explains how she works, the limits of confidentiality and the possible risks and benefits of counseling. You decide whether it suits you.

How often and how long do we meet?

Sessions are fifty minutes. You and Yolanda set the pace together, and you can change it. There is no set number of sessions.

Are you licensed where I live?

Yolanda is licensed in Wisconsin. For video sessions you must be in Wisconsin during the session. If you are elsewhere, we cannot see you, but we can help you find someone.

What do I do in a crisis?

Call or text 988, any time. In an emergency, call 911. For pregnancy-related mental health support, the National Maternal Mental Health Hotline answers calls and texts at 1-833-TLC-MAMA. Lull is not monitored around the clock.

What is confidential, and what are the limits?

What you say in sessions stays private. Yolanda may share it only with your written permission, or where the law requires, such as a risk of serious harm to you or someone else. She explains this in the first session.

Can you see my teen?

No. Lull sees adults only. We can help you look for someone who sees teens.

What is your cancellation policy?

We ask for 24 hours' notice to change an appointment, so the hour can go to someone else. Ask us if something unexpected comes up.

Did we miss yours?

Write to us and Yolanda will answer.
